My mother Ronnie would often be treated badly by people because shewas different. She had a form of social anxiety which turned her intobeing housebound for most of my childhood. It came from severe childhood trauma that she kept secret fromeveryone and was only told to me when I was an adult. When I was growing up, I only wanted her to be liked by people, butshe never wanted anyone near her. In those times, she would teach meabout art because she wanted to be an artist. She had to go out into theworld to find work to help her family financially.
