From time to time the Art Gallery of Western Australia arranges special Teacher Previews of our exhibitions and other events. Teacher Previews are held at the Gallery, unless otherwise stated.

AGWA Education Event – Teacher Preview
Everyone has a history – Part One: Plain Speak and The Rise of Sneaker Culture

4-6pm, Wednesday 1 March 2017 | $10 | Refreshments provided


Join us in March at AGWA for an exhibition tour, a slide show and wine and cheese.

Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Carly Lane will take you on a guided tour through Plain Speak, the first exhibition in AGWA’s new series titled Everyone has a history and the introduction of our ongoing Indigenous project titled Six Seasons.

Curator of Contemporary Design and International Art Robert Cook will present a slide show about the exciting popular culture exhibition coming up in May called The Rise of Sneaker Culture.

Education Officer Lisa Young will provide a brief outline of AGWA’s program for schools in 2017.

This workshop will address the following AITSL Professional Teaching Standards:
Standard 1 Know students and how they learn
Standard 2 Know the content and how to teach it
Standard 3 Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
Standard 6 Engage in professional learning
Standard 7 Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
