New interim leadership team for Art Gallery of Western Australia

  • Interim leadership will commence on July 23, 2019 for six-month period
  • Colin Walker to act as chief executive officer and Dr Ric Spencer as lead curator

Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman has today announced a new interim leadership team will oversee the Art Gallery of Western Australia for a six-month period. The interim leadership team will work with the Art Gallery's board during the recruitment process for a new permanent director. Senior government arts executive, Colin Walker will act as chief executive officer managing administration of the Gallery from July 23, 2019.

On Saturday 27 August, the Gallery is open 10am-3pm only as we prepare for the AGWA Foundation Gala supporting women in the arts. Some exhibition access will be disrupted with two Tracks We Share ground floor galleries closed. AGWA Rooftop bar will be closed, reopening at 2pm Sunday. Details
