WHORL - Lifespan Dance

WHORL - Lifespan Dance

Presented by Lifespan Dance, WHORL is a new seated dance performance choreographed by Paige Gordon, to music created by Louis Frere-Harvey.

Inspired by the spiralling shapes found in coastal shells, botanical structures and our own finger/foot prints, the formation and movements reflect the winding and unwinding pathways.

WHORL raises our awareness to the simplicity of a spiral motif, honoring the environment with colour, movement, joy and hope. WHORL builds on the success of the Exquisite Bodies performance in Seniors Week last year, which was a performative dance response to Bruno Booth's exhibition collaboration with Gallery 09 creatives.

Community and virtuosic dancers are welcomed to be part of the WHORL performance. Audiences are welcome to watch the rehearsal and the performances.

The workshop and performances are part of Seniors Week 2024 celebrations.
