Billions of people are wearing T-shirts right now

Melbourne-based curator and founder of T-world, Eddie Zammit's globally-relevant collection takes centre stage, as Billions of people are wearing T-shirts right now celebrates the significance of arguably the most popular art medium in the world...the T-shirt.

From art, music, politics, pop culture and sport – the show is set to explore key designs of the many T-shirt themes and subcultures that make up this street-wear and everyday staple.

The show brings to Perth hundreds of the most significant expressions of T-shirt culture showcasing key artists, brands and designers from the past thirty years.

Peeling back the layers of the T-shirt culture, it also uncovers a rich story of creativity and design across illustration, typography and photography and explores the history and future of this unassuming design icon throughout the 20th-century.

This exhibition is organised by the Art Gallery of WA with Lead Curator Eddie Zammit.
