Tom Malone Prize 2012
2012 marks a decade of the Tom Malone Prize. The combined exhibitions feature work by 2012’s shortlisted makers, all past winners and a selection of glass works from the State Art Collection.

Vast: north-west landscapes
This display focuses on key works in the State Art Collection which explore the aesthetic outcomes of the challenge to understand the topography of, and experience of being in, a previously alien place.

Your Collection 1800 – today, is the first time ever the Collection has been displayed chronologically. The displays bring together Indigenous and non-Indigenous art, craft and design from international, national and Western Australian contexts in new conversations.

New appointment to AGWA Board

Culture and the Arts Minister John Day has announced the three-year appointment of Trish Ridsdale to the Art Gallery of Western Australia Board, together with the re-appointment of Hamish Beck.

The Gallery announced today that Picasso to Warhol: Twelve Modern Masters is now Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters with the addition of works from Louise Bourgeois (American, b. France, 1911-2010) and Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988).
