New work from Mangkaja Arts announced as second commission in AGWA's Desert River Sea exhibition

Following AGWA's recent announcement of Daniel Walbidi's striking new commission Wirnpa (2016-2019), the Gallery revealed a collection of works by Mangkaja Arts artists as the second of eight commissions to feature in the exhibition Desert River Sea: Portraits of the Kimberley. The works from Mangkaja Arts focus on station stories from artists' personal and collective memories. Diverse in medium, the collection features painted animal hides, bush-dyed textiles and repurposed ready-made objects.

On Saturday 27 August, the Gallery is open 10am-3pm only as we prepare for the AGWA Foundation Gala supporting women in the arts. Some exhibition access will be disrupted with two Tracks We Share ground floor galleries closed. AGWA Rooftop bar will be closed, reopening at 2pm Sunday. Details
