Presenting works from 1970 to today, AGWA Contemporary captures shifts of focus in art practice over the course of five decades, spanning this century and the last. Arranged in loose chronological and thematic groupings, these works show that contemporary art defies easy definitions or uniform organising conventions and is shaped by diverse influences, both local and global. A recent rehang in the space highlights the human figure, cultural identity and global politics, and features newly acquired works by local artist Abdul-Rahman Abdullah alongside those of William Kentridge, Christian Thompson, and more.
