2020 Emerging Artist Acquisition Appeal

Related Information

AGWA’s 2020 Emerging Artist Acquisition Appeal helped us to support WA’s emerging artists and acquire new works into the State Art Collection.

As an extension of the AGWA Foundation Stimulus Package, the Emerging Artist Acquisition Appeal was implemented specifically to help us all play a role in contributing to the careers of emerging artists not yet represented in the State Collection.

The actions we take today define the history we write tomorrow. Participants in this program helped to ensure that works by exciting emerging artists are added to the pages of WA’s art history. The program ensured that the next generation of artists will not be forgotten.

Donations to the Emerging Artist Acquisition Appeal enabled AGWA to purchase works from these artists. We expect that some of the most defining art of our age will emerge from these times. And, importantly, our supporters helped us ensure that it can.

Hear from WA artists in the Collection

We remind ourselves that today’s renowned artists were all once emerging artists themselves. To see how our Foundation donors have been able to impact the careers of previous emerging artists, watch the videos above.
