Striking portraits and people emerge as recurring figures in Resistance, a subtle yet powerful exhibition of works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, opening at the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) on Saturday. Forty-five works across a mix of mediums, including large-scale paintings and filmic works, demonstrate an incredible range and raise important themes of identity, justice and action.
