Dr Kate Hislop

Appointed in 2024 under Section 6(1)(a) of The Art Gallery of Western Australia Act – Current Term Ends 2028

Dr Kate Hislop is a registered architect with three decades of experience across architectural education, practice and leadership. Since 2017 she has been Dean and Head of the School of Design at The University of Western Australia, responsible for the academic leadership and strategic direction of the School’s research, education and engagement activities across Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Fine Arts, and History of Art programs.

She is a member of the Executive of ADBED (Australian Deans of Built Environment and Design) and the UWA Publishing Board, and was previously Chair of the National Advisory Panel to the AACA (Architects Accreditation Council of Australia) and a member of the Architects Board WA.

She maintains active involvement with the architectural profession at state and national levels and in 2023 was awarded Life Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Architects.
