An all-ages opportunity to collaborate with Esther McDowell/Yabini Kickett as part of her Artist Activation Kaalak Minditj Kaalak – Home Sick Home. Learn dry brush painting techniques, explore endemic species of Perth, and contribute the development of a new creative learning resource which will launch as part of The Botanical: Beauty and Peril.

Kaalak Minditj Kaalak – Home Sick Home, explores Esther’s experience of “solastagia” and connection to Country, as part of Desert River Sea: Portraits of the Kimberley. The resulting work will be launched during NAIDOC Week 2019: Voice. Treaty. Truth.

*Solastalgia refers to a form of sadness caused by environmental change.
