Drawing Breath + Slow Looking | Exquisite Bodies For Educators

Drawing Breath + Slow Looking | Exquisite Bodies For Educators

This hands-on workshop will provide experimental strategies for exploring elements and principles through AGWA’s Drawing Breath + Slow Looking methodology.

Facilitated in participatory exhibition Exquisite Bodies, the workshop invites educators to engage with their own arts practice through a series of creative prompts and critical discussion.

Educators will gain an understanding of how to enhance the social and emotional wellbeing of students through making and responding to works of art. Through analysis, interpretation and artmaking, participants will learn to engage critical thinking methods that invite open-ended personal response.

Exquisite Bodies is a dynamic interactive exhibition developed in collaboration with disabled artist Bruno Booth.

You will:
Learn simple creative practices to heighten presence and attention
Explore mindfulness in relation to elements and principles of art
Make connections between self, artworks, each other and the world
Learn strategies for enhancing the wellbeing of students through the arts
Harness surrealist practices through experimentation and risk-taking
