Highlights of First Nations Art | Guided Tours

There is nothing like a personal interaction to spark the imagination.

AGWA Gallery Guides bring the AGWA collection and temporary exhibitions to life with their insights into the work, era and artist.

Aboriginal art is said to be Australia's greatest gift to the world. It is part of the continuum of ceremonial practice, a connection with traditional lands and with ancestral beliefs. Aboriginal art is strikingly beautiful, but it can also tell of a history of sorrow, dislocation and discrimination.

This guided tour gives an insight into traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art as well as contemporary Aboriginal social and political statements through art.
