Join WA Now artist Eveline Kotai for a hands-on workshop creating new artworks from repurposed materials. Bring the family and create a new artwork using found and repurposed materials. Construct your own creation or work as a group to make an assemblage from the materials supplied. This is an opportunity to let your imagination run free and take home your own unique piece of recycled art.

During the school holidays why not visit AGWA and take part in Cloud Nine presented in partnership with AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things. Relax as Perth’s top professional choral singers, The Giovanni Consort perform a selection of music that will soothe the senses and focus the mind. Discard your shoes, don an eye mask, and immerse yourself in a restorative meditation. Suitable for children ages 7 and up. All welcome.

Conversations with Rain

During The Botanical: Beauty and Peril exhibition, visit the Imagination Room and be part of the Conversations with Rain project exploring children’s creative responses to weather and our relationship to the environment and climate change. Make your own book of rain out of re-purposed materials, read hand-made books from the Library of Rain made by multi-generational AGWA Audiences, and listen to the soundscape made with paper and pencils.

Birds of Beauty and Peril

Join us in The Botanical: Beauty and Peril activity area after your visit and draw a magnificent winged beauty or a frightening flight of feathers in response to the exhibition. While you are visiting the exhibition look out for children’s labels created by City Beach Primary School students through HOT (Higher Order Thinking) Art workshops, a pilot project amplifying children's voices in gallery spaces.
