Art connects us with ourselves, each other and the world
Come and PLAY!
Looking Out/Back/In is a participatory all-ages exhibition and dedicated play space designed by Eveline Kotai in collaboration with Lilly Blue, Head of Learning and Creativity Research at the Art Gallery of WA.
Families are invited to look OUT the newly revealed windows to the skyline, BACK in time to what the city might have looked like before, and IN towards the building’s architecture. Come and create sculptures, cubby houses and 2D designs with colourful geometric shapes made from a light acoustic material called Autex, designed to be sensory and accessible.
Looking Out/Back/In also includes an enormous monochromatic multimedia drawing by Eveline Kotai called Skyline/Timeline created across 65 separate pages in response to a black and white photograph taken out the gallery window in 1979.
